Gentherm in Northville Township, which offers thermal management and pneumatic comfort technologies for the automotive industry, has completed the acquisition of Alfmeier Präzision.

Headquartered in Treuchtlingen, Germany, Alfmeier is a manufacturer of automotive lumbar and massage comfort solutions, with expertise in advanced valve system technologies, integrated electronics, and software.

Alfmeier’s seating comfort portfolio includes electro-pneumatic lumbar support, which consists of air cushions attached to a seats rear suspension that can vary lumbar curvature to support; side bolster adjustments designed to offer more support in lateral movements; multi-contour seats that allow the regulation of hardness in the backrest, seat cushion contour, and surface hardness.

Its fluid systems business produces solutions for applications such as fuel supply, servo assistance, flap control, crank case ventilation, as well as thermal management. The company also offers precision injection molding and valve technology.
